Siena’s famous horse race will be run on July 2,
the day after the workshop is over. This is a very exciting time to be in
Siena. It is difficult to find tickets to the race itself (sorry, we can’t
help with that). However, there are several time trials which can be viewed
and the preparatory activities - the blessing of the horses in each Contrada’s
chapel, the parade with all its medieval pageantry - is well worth staying
for. People wishing to stay for the Palio on the 1st and 2nd can stay at Villa
Madreselva for an additional cost of 50 euros per night with breakfast for
a single and 75 euros per night for a double. We will not be providing lunch
or dinner after the workshop.
